In this Episode I explain/show off some of the more exploitable glitches...
Mew Glitch
The Mew glitch can be triggered by the trainer in the grass just left of the Nugget Bridge or the Gambler Trainer near the entrance of the Underground Passage between Lavender Town and Celadon City on Route 8. There's also different Pokémon you can use to get Mew, but the Yongster with the Lv. 17 Slowpoke on route 25 is the one I normally use. Also I was wrong about Slowpoke's Stat being 30 - It's 21. this glitch can be exploited to get any other Pokemon in the game.
Old Man Glitch/MissingNo. Glitch/RareCandy/Item cloning glitch
The other Glitch is usually called the Old Man Glitch, but it causes Missingno. and 'M to appear and also causes the Item Duplication Glitch. Basically, you talk to the Old man in varidian city and let him Catch the Weedle, then you fly to Cinnabar Island and surf along the coast. Dependant on what your name is you'll get different Pokemon, even those Past Level 100! If you encounter 'M and wish to catch it, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A SPACE IN YOUR PARTY FOR IT, else it crashes the game if you try and take it out of the PC. Also give it a Rare Candy - It'll surprise you!
Both Missingno. and 'M corrupt the data stored in the Hall of Fame, resulting in some weird stuff happening (it also explains when you encounter them, it takes a while to go to the battle screen) when you go look at it. If you don't want this to happen, make sure to do all your glitch Pokemon catching/item duplicating before facing the Elite Four and Gary.
This trick doesn't work in Yellow, but MissingNo. still Exists there - only he's a little more dangerous to your save files... Or So I'm Told...
